So I’ve spent so long playing the bandpass, allpass and phaser types that it never occurred to me how the 1PLP + 3PHP and 3PLP + 1PHP stereo filter configurations are working. Like, in the other filter types, delta-cutoff would be moving the cutoff of the first filter from the second one, right? Let’s say, parallel 2PLP + 2PLP - delta-cutoff is offsetting the first 2PLP from the second 2PLP. But in stereo, delta-cutoff is moving the left filter cutoff from the right filter cutoff, right? So the first 1PLP has a fixed cutoff relationship from the 3PHP … so it’s kind of just a bandpass with an asymmetrical slope? That doesn’t seem that desirable to me - in that configuration I’d rather have delta-cutoff decide the difference between the first and second filter on each side, and then we could still get some stereo goodness through LFO1’s binaural nature, right? Or am I missing something?
i think the offset is bipolar, so when left goes up, right goes down an equal amount. In the 1lp+3hp mode, the lp goes down and the hp goes up. That makes more sense
One weird thing is that in the mod matrix the value is reversed, so a positive value acts the same as turning the knob counterclockwise or ‘down’
