# Independent Tempo per layer

Imagine two arps running their own speed in the upper and lower layers for experimental soundscapes.

The proposed patch-local tempo feature will allow a patch to disconnect from the main tempo, and define a tempo for the patch only. Things like the patch arp and effects - that normally sync to the global tempo - will now sync to the patch-local tempo.

The patch-local tempo clock will not auto-sync to external midi-clock, only the global Tempo clock will do that.
