# Individual note control

I was thinking about a long-standing wish, which was that flipping the Drive or Keytrack switches would not change the sound of currently-playing notes, just those triggered afterwards. With MPE, you get individual note control, right? So would that mean this could now be achieved?

@DDS this is an interesting point, and something we should consider expanding upon. “Smooth transitions” might be achieved by applying switched controls to only new notes or keys held (ignoring notes held by sustain pedal/hold or decaying from long release). Hard to do but it’s well aligned with what we are working to achieve with these instruments. Thanks @softroom
