My apologies if this is a repost - but I was just wondering when the new firmware will be released? All I could find from them was mention from their newsletter: _What’s Next?_ _With our feet firmly back on home soil, we’re straight back to it, cracking on with all our developments. We’re busy working hard on the Super 6 firmware update which will be available soon. Following that, we’ll be preparing all things Gemini ready for shipping this Autumn. Watch this Space!_ _All the best,_ _The UDO team""_ Well… we are now well into Fall and no firmware. Kind of frustrating to see them releasing new products while delaying firmware for the super-6. ---

The Super Gemini was touted for a September release, too. They’re a small team with a lot to do, I guess. ---

Indeed, a small team with a lot of work to make nice products even nicer 😉 I guess it will come soon as I have been contacted to test the correction of a “bug” I reported. @MattMarantz Something is also telling me that Aftertouch to VCA modulation may also be part of the plate. Wait and see… ---

In regards “we’ve been hearing about imminent firmware updates for a few years now”, there was an release last year! So its not like we’ve had years of talk without any releases. ---

I worded that poorly. Yes, there have been updates, but we hear about their “immanence” for about a year ahead of time. And the feature complete 1.0 - we _have_ been waiting for that for years. ---

I hope to god the next update is labelled 1.0 UDO could update it to 1.0, add no new features and people would be satisfied. Conversely, they could add multiple new exciting features, label it 0.75 and people would do nothing but complain. ---

Anyway the most obvious alternative is that we hear nothing at all about the next version until the day its released. I dont like that way of doing things that some companies favour either, although I can see why some do it that way. ---

And I should say that of course I would prefer more frequent releases of new versions, but nothing I say is going to change the resources available for that task. ---

I think that any software update to the S6 if and when it comes has to offer some meaningful additions to satisfy most if not all of the user base, maybe the ability to split the K/B , more AT destinations / modulations, more voices and memory , OK that may be a step to far but it would be nice . On a serous note, suspect that the next update will be the last as UDO move beyond the S6 and Gemini synths onto what ever they have planned for the future. ---

Although UDO has already stated they are not, I would honestly love for a very nice simple working Editor/Librarian of some sort to manage patches etc ---

Yeah! I’m eager to try out that editor, which as far as I know, is the only one available. I’ve been patiently waiting for the new firmware to address some issues that have been preventing the editor from functioning as intended. I remember a discussion in another thread that mentioned the Sunny Synths team’s efforts to contact UDO in order to resolve this. Yeah ive been using the Sunny Synths editor for a little while now and overall its okay but it can be a bit buggy in places and as far as im aware, development on the editor has been delayed due to documentation needed from UDO to fix bugs etc ---

Seems to me that every dead line mentioned by forum members and the UDO rumour mill seems to slip with no real formal update from UDO regarding if an update is still planned and if it is what will it offer - anyway my guess is the UDO will thank its user base for its patience and understanding by issuing a major meaningful update on Christmas Day 2023 , or Christmas Day 2024/25? who knows !!!
