Problems using the Ribbon in Logic Pro

Hi there!

I’m recording MIDI in Logic Pro for some passages using the Super Gemini. I use the ribbon occasionally, and it’s recorded as a breath controller. The problem is that when I play back the passage, the recorded breath controller doesn’t produce the pitch effect assigned to the patch. In fact, it doesn’t seem to affect the sound at all. What am I doing wrong, or what am I not considering when configuring the keyboard or MIDI tracks? Is there any detailed documentation on using the Super Gemini with Logic Pro?

Thanks in advance!

check your midi Tx/Rx E settings on the synth

Ribbon sends fine and coarse data, if you’re only recording CC2 that’s only the coarse/MSB. Somehow you need to arrange things so the SG is getting back the same data it sends out, probably MSB/LSB pairs like CC2 then CC34 (I say probably as haven’t checked with my own unit, just refreshed memory via the manual). It seems a well-formed ribbon message would consist of paired CC messages sent in a consistent pattern/order.
