Request for Patch Help: Distorted Synth Bass from "Bunda" (Drop at 0:32) for Super Gemini

Hi Dave Mackay (or @goodweather if you’re reading),

I’m reaching out because you are among the only creators recognized in the UDO Super Gemini community — whether for your commercial sound bank (Dave Mackay) or your work on editor/librarian tools (goodweather).

I’d love to recreate a distorted synth bass used in the track “Bunda”, appearing right at 0:32 during the drop. It’s the syncopated main bassline: aggressive, punchy, growly, and driving the track’s main theme.

Would you or anyone else be interested in helping recreate this exact bass sound on the Super Gemini? Specifically:

  • Sharing a preset or SysEx dump
  • Step‑by‑step patch guidance (oscillator settings, filters, morph, modulation, distortion layering)
  • Hosting or sharing the patch publicly (sound bank, preset exchange)

You both have stood out in the UDO community — one with sound patch creation, the other on tooling — and your insight or support would mean a lot. I’m confident that this type of syncopated distorted bass drop would be an exciting showcase for Super Gemini’s capabilities.

Thanks in advance for any help or collaboration!

Best regards,
SERDAN aka Aparat Blue

Hi Serdan, thx for asking and mentioning me but I will not be able to help you on this one.
First of all I don’t have the synth but my synthesis skills are just basic.
I wish I would be able to help you. It would have been a pleasure.
Did you put your request on Gearspace or reddit?
You could maybe also raise it in a broader sense than just for the S8/SG. I mean that if someone can give you the settings for any synth, you can maybe use that as a base to replicate it on the S8/SG.

Hi goodweather,
Thanks for your reply! I was actually hoping to hear from people who specifically use the U.D.O Super Gemini, as that would be much more practical for me.
Still, I really appreciate you taking the time to answer. Thanks again!

Contact @trond.olsen, he may be able to help you.
He is providing me with great help on testing the editors.

This tone “Bunda.xsg”. How can I load it into Super Gemini without affecting the other tones, banks? Is there a specific method? I don’t want to know anything. Thank you in advance.

You’re welcome!

You have to connect it with USB, turn it off and power it back on while holding the PATCH button.

This will start it in disk mode for file management. It will show up as a drive on your computer, navigate to either “performances_a” or “performances_b”, one of the a…h banks, and copy it there, following the naming convention, i.e. “x1_Bunda.xsg”. You’ll know what I mean when you see it.

If there’s already a patch with the number you want to use I think you need to delete it.

If I remember correctly, performances_b is completely empty so you can just choose any bank and give it any number x1…x8 you want!

Be sure to do a backup first

Cheers!

**@pegboardnerds**Thank you very much!

Hi, thanks so much for the detailed explanation – really appreciate it!
Just to double-check: if my “performances_b” bank is already full, do I need to delete an existing patch from that bank in order to add a new one?

Thanks again and cheers!

Wow, you recreated this tone from Bunda so well — congratulations, man!

I think so, not quite sure what happens if you have two patches occupying the same slot
