Early adopter bugs :)

This one also happened on my computer.

I’ve also encountered this a couple times on 1.12, but have not yet noticed a pattern to reproduce it. I tend to encounter it while adjusting Env 1 on the right DMNO.

For me it was crossmod mostly if i remember correctly… I did a lot of crossmod

Pitch in the left-hand section jumps from 0 straight to 10, so subtle vibrato is not an option.

Is that a bug or a problem with my unit? Can someone try to replicate? Thanks!

which pitch? the tune knob below the osc? or pitch bender?

The slider on the bottom left above pitch bend..

ah right, mine as well, just checked :+1: so a FW thing..

Good to know, thanks for checking!

On firmware 1.12 I don’t have any issues with the Pitch slider in the left hand section - it goes smoothly for me.

Some issues I’ve encountered after receiving mine a few days ago:

  • one of the TUNE knobs (in my case the OSC 2 on the left voice) being very jumpy while turning the knob smoothly in one direction - the value jumps back and forth while turning the knob
  • When running in Dual and Split modes, unexpected notes start triggering and staying on beyond the duration of the configured VCA envelope. In Split mode, notes of both voices will trigger when playing a note on the left voice’s split range. In Dual mode, it seems alomost like a midi NOTE OFF is not being received frequently, causing some notes to hang on. It seems to happen more often over time, and now Dual and Split modes are not very usable, so I’m about to backup my patches and do a factory reset to see if it improves.
    • EDIT: I’ve fixed this. The cause was the fact that I configured ā€œAux Out Sourceā€ in the I/O settings to be ā€œMain Outā€ - when returned to the default of ā€œUSB Audioā€ the above issues resolve. My Ext In was set to 0 when experiencing the above issues, so I don’t believe I experienced expected behavior.

I’ve been loving the patches I’ve been making, overall.

just to clarify, the slider is smooth, just the value on the screen jumps from 0 to 10, and only then is continuous to 127..

Random triggered notes happened for me related to the soundcard behaviour of the Synth, might be the same for you @welded.door .. see further up

My values smoothly transition - there may be either some patch or configuration-related factor. I’ll start sliding it more frequently intermittently while using mine to see if at some point something causes the values to jump non-continuously, and I’ll report back right away if I notice something that may relate to the behavior in case it’s helpful!

Sounds like a possible hardware issue with the encoder. Have you checked with udo on that one?

Yes, mine jumps from 0 to 10 also.

I hit a resolvable issue with the machine not outputting audio. After using USB for midi input and output (not sure if this is causal in the bug’s expression), my headphone and audio jacks stop outputting anything when the USB is not connected, audio starts again a few moments after reattaching the USB connected to my Hermod+ sequencer.

I resolved this by holding INIT and performing a Global Reset - this seems safe and doesn’t drop your presets, it’s not a ā€œfactory resetā€. Midi Panic did not address it. Changing the Aux Source did not address it. Restarting with no cables other than power did not address it. (stating the negative attempts in case that assists in triage).

Generally I recommend everyone experiencing weirdness to run a Global Reset by holding INIT - I think it would address a lot of the issues folks stumble into when receiving devices that seem to have random parameters set somewhere under the surface, which may have taken the device off the well-understood defaults into more bug-prone territory. Maybe they run a midi test loop that essentially is a fuzzer before shipping, similar to other manufacturers, causing the drift.

I seem to be having issues with the keyboard occasionally reporting notes with a velocity of 1 when that’s definitely not happening. I’m going to report this to UDO too; mentioning it here in case anyone else runs into this.

(good news! it was my USB hub…)
