New UDO Synth DMNO, 8-voice, 2-part multitimbral

DMNO is an 8-voice, 2-part multitimbral powerhouse with a highly flexible and dynamic signal architecture. It features two independent 4-voice analog-hybrid synthesizers, each equipped with our new Dynamic Multi-Core Stereo VCF. With its eight creative Play Modes, DMNO unlocks dynamic interactions between the two timbres at the touch of a single control, while its flexible analog and digital audio connectivity makes it a truly expansive and immediate sound design sandbox.

Looks similar to a SEM or Two Voice. And we have a screen now!

Are those slim/mini keys? Looks very Interesting architecture.

looks like normal size keys to me. I am assuming similar form factor to super 6 but less keys. Looks like its gonna be a bunch of fun. I wonder if the filters are sweepable between low,notch/band/hi pass!?

Very excited to hear george talk about this at Machina Bristronica!

Why oh why was that screen not on the Gemini :slightly_frowning_face:

Panel is jam-packed with all kinds of new controls. At first glance I spotted some differences from existing synths:

  • Layers: domino/randomizer
  • Oscillator 1: 6 user waveforms, alternating sync
  • Oscillator 2: super mode, 3 user waveforms
  • Filter: all-pass, phase shifter, routing
  • LFO1: 2 user waveforms
  • ENV3: via display
  • Effects: reverb, chorus (adjustable), eq, multi-mode distortion

Looking forward to the demos!

Nice! Looks like the release and the hold of the AHDSR will be via a shift key.

Seeing it has a screen hurts a little, but I’m going to have hope it means they can use what they learned from it to find a way to do an outboard for their flagships.

Let’s hope there’s a plan for a screen module like it was possible to add the ribbon controller. Joke aside, is there any mention of DMNO’s price?

What do they mean by “offering a wealth of filter modes — ranging from classic, recognizable shapes to bold, experimental options” ? Is it something similar to Redshift 6/ Neutron Flux Filter from Supercritical where you can reconfigure filter response curve? That would be absolutely amazing!

OMG, and no money in my pockets :frowning:

Edit: Here we have our reverb as well: ‘Delay, reverb, EQ, distortion, chorus’
Reverb with size, pre-delay, lo-cut, damping and width parameters.”

Even though it looks very SEM-like, it appears that it does not have a continuously morphable SEM-style filter.

‘Depending on the mode, various filter types (low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, all-pass and phase shifter) are available with different filter slopes and in various combinations.’

But let’s wait for the manual and see.

Interested particularly in the “series” play mode - DMNO 1 as a complex oscillator into DMNO 2, wonder how that interacts? just via the mixer so far as I can see… (I did mention liking complex oscillator into waveguide in the “what to build next” thread… did someone say allpass filters too?!)

Some other interesting mod options, envelope follower and such.

More control over the drive by the looks of it.

The new filters can be configured in series or parallel or a feedback configuration (or that icon refers just to stereo maybe).

Quite exciting. A bold move indeed. To be followed by lots of lovely little less bold forward steps for the whole line me hopes!

Back when they released the ribbon I’d thought they were teasing some kind of fx unit with a screen, so maybe indeed we’ll have a spin off for the whole line. Pretty smart that would be.

I’d started thinking recently about how great it would be to have the layers interact more on my Gemini. Would be very cool if we could see some of that one day…

Anyways, congratulations, looks like you’ve been working hard & it’s very impressive!

Hey Trond, where did you see/find this info?

Yes, I must add my voice to unclewayback’s and also congratulate you on this new beauty. She’s impressive indeed!

Its in the specification on DMNO | 8 Voice Polyphonic Binaural Analog-hybrid Synthesizer With Dynamic Signal Architecture.

It’s on their webpage, under the ‘Full Technical Specifications’ section (at the bottom).

Ah yes, thanks guys. Lots more interesting info there! Drone mode on OSC 2. Pulse on both OSC 1 & 2. Sync from 1>2 or 2>1. Looks really flexible!

Seen a few reports around saying it’s channel aftertouch only, and will retail at £2499

I can live with channel aftertouch if it’s essentially a solo synth and can just about live with the three-way switch for keytracking, three sliders for envelopes etc. I am hoping for a better pitch bender than my Super 6 has though.
Looks great and the voice allocation stuff sounds really good fun. I reckon if it’s around £1200 I’l be getting one.
