I’m taking the new firmware for a spin, and enjoying the new random mode in LFO 1, where if the mode is set to reset and rate and phase are all the way down, you get a single new value with each key press. But it sounds to me like there is a small but noticeable portamento (glide) on each value. Is anyone else hearing this?
Yes, I hear it as well. I really wonder why it’s a struggle to get real random/S&H
I’ve noticed now that the portamento effect is present in S&H mode generally, not just in “once” mode. Weird!
There is a fast ramp between random values rather than a step, that is quite fast but will be noticeable sometimes.
Without it you’ll get clicks when modulating amplitude or filter (or other parameters). I personally find this jarring so I slew the step transitions from sample to sample in random mode.
LFO delay is never really also 0ms for same reason, although perhaps the minimum LFO delay is a bit too long as it is now in some cases.
