S6 Desktop unbalanced outs to balanced XLR with 'pseudo balanced' cable?

Hi all,

Usually I go direct from my S6 Desktop to my mixer’s jack inputs using TS cables and everything works fine.

I would now like to go via a 500 series rack (a Radial Workhorse Cube, I have also emailed their tech support to check) which features a female XLR socket for input.

Would there be any issue in using what’s sometimes known as a ‘pseudo balanced’ TS to XLR cable where the sleeve (ground) of the TS plug is connected to cold pin 3 of the male XLR and pin 1 is wired to cable screen but left floating at the TS end?

I was hoping to avoid having a level drop by using a TS / TS cable to the TRS input of the 500 rack.

I hope I have that all in order, please feel free to correct me if not!

Cheers

You might want to use a DI box if you’re going TR to XLR to get the levels, and grounding right.
