What stands are you people using? I have a K&M 18953 for my Nord 61-key, fits exactly. It would be a bit short, width and depth, for the Gemini, but is rock-solid. Can’t find a bigger K&M, but figure getting a second 18953 should be OK. Nord is 900 wide, compared to SG’s 1040, 260 depth compared to SG’s 440 . . . Big mistake?!
I’m using a K&M 18810, it’s super solid and fit’s well under the SG. Your 18953 looks even stronger. So i don’t think it’s a mistake.
OK, thanks. I’ll try the SG on it, and order a second one if it’s wide enough.
I’m using a K&M Omega Pro, no problems with it at all. I just prefer this leg style for a semi-permanent set up. There’s more room for your leg underneath since the frame doesn’t go all the way around. It just feels more comfortable for me to sit at.
I actually have both styles from K&M, and they are both plenty strong. 18950 is the 4 legged version I have, it’s a bit wider from front to back and you can adjust the width, it might be the better choice for the SG if you go that way.
I went with Liquid Stands Z-stand with wheels, because it sits beside my recording desk as both my main synth and MIDI controller. Super sturdy stand and I like it better than the On-Stage Z-stands I’ve used inthe past. The wheels let me roll it out of the way when clients are here and I’m not composing.
oof.. made the mistake of preordering a synth when my stand is out of space.. Then I remembered @GregVDS had a really neat solution with drawer. I am thinking about using an IKEA desk stand since its easily available. So I started a quick sketchup drawing cubes in Tinkercad but then discovered you can actually import 3d objects. With machine learning its actually really simple to convert images to 3d models. Then I converted some images of my equipment, and voilà, its fairly easy to get a real sense of how it will work out.
(I will actually have to make the depth a bit more shallow)
Dropped IKEA plan and instead made a countertop table with metal legs made locally. Its much easier now, with a single desk, to switch between computer and the synth. Still figuring though how to add another synth ![]()
Just got my Super Gemini this week and wanted to add my 2 cents here. I’m currently putting it on the top tier of my 4-armed K&M Spider Pro, on the slightly angled arms and it’s amazing ergonomically. I also was warned this is a very “deep” synth physically but the Spider Pro handles it with ease.
