Can anyone verify bender to VCF is working - running the latest OS 1.2.6? Bender to DDS works fine (as does dest (both, upper, lower). However setting VCF to any amount has no effect with the bender moving horizontally. Set env and VCF to middle position after init patch, set leftmost toggle switch to trig. FWIW, setting DDS to zero for both bend and lfo2 still results in bend when toggle set to LFO2 on. Filter modulation via vertical bender modulation works fine.
Are you in the mode with LFO2 always on? There was a behaviour change listed in the update notes; I’d suggest reading those and seeing if it covers what you’re experiencing.
Thanks - that explains the bender behavior when LFO2 is set to on. My biggest issue however remains the lack of VCF adjustment via the bender horizontally when set to any of the settings.
To reproduce - init patch, set env, vcf to 50% (so there’s room to modulate), set VCF slider in dest to 10, set dest to both (or any setting has the same effect), set toggle to trig, play notes and move the bender horizontally - no effect.
I’m experiencing the same thing with v1.26 on my Super 8.
As @afewster mentions the updated bender behaviour works as described in the release notes, but bender > VCF does nothing regardless of amount or LFO2 mode.
Additionally, any bender > VCF setting in patches (my own and factory) has been broken.
Thanks for confirming @ozvena
UDO support confirm this is a known issue and should be fixed in v1.27!
Thanks for letting us know. I’ll hang back on updating until 1.27 appears
I’m glad I found this. I thought maybe I had a faulty unit.
I hope we will not have a 1.27 but rather a 2.00 (not only fixing small stuff, but fixing BIG stuff and adding functionalities) :-)…
5 months without a hot fix, I don’t know if it’s encouraging or worrisome for a satisfying 2.00
Yep… 5 months already. I thought I heard @udo-audio engaged a full time developer. Maybe it requires time to master the code, maybe they are refactoring a lot of stuff inheritated from the S6 days that should be made anew… Maybe they are trying to fusion S6 and S8/SG developments…
But somehow it’s a bit on a slow side for this kind of fix, yep…
I agree, lots of maybes. I hope they’ll address this lack of communication.
Just dropping into say I have the same issues and it appears to be this way in every Gemini?
I think this should have resolves with an overnight hotfix.
I agree, it should have been a separate fix for a regression. Told them exactly that by mail, didn’t acknowledge. But the update is “coming soon, more testing”.
Were they not already engaging a full time developer from the beginning, for their 2-4k product line ? Hopefully we’re not running the quality code of some devs’ after work job.
Just noticing this today and hoping for a fix soon.
I noticed this as well. I actually asked them for a feature request. I’d like that VCF slider in the Performance area to be a modulation source (like a mod wheel) that I can map multiple things to. By default, the filter cutoff … but I could map other things to it as well. Unless I’m missing on how to do this already.
I do miss the mod wheel and being able to map filter cutoff, panning, fx send, etc to it. On my Prophet and TEO-5 (which I sold) this was an easy task.
Regardless, I LOVE the sound of the Super 8!
Cheers!
