Hi all,
I’m running into an issue with my new RBN-1 controller. I think I know what’s happening; when in intelligent pitch mode lets say you bend a note up or down and then start playing notes a distance away from where that last bent note lay, when the voice address cycles through the voices and meets that last bent voice it slews the pitch to meet the note you are playing. It’s very noticeable.
Are other people having the same effect on their Super 8 + RBN-1 controller?
I’m on firmware v1.33 and have tried Global Reset as well as Manual Upper + Hold Lower for 5 seconds. I’m also running the SP8+ voice upgrade which is working fine.
Cheers
Hmm, it seems my Super 8 had forgotten how many voices it had - somewhere along it’d reverted to 8/16. On pressing lower hold + single I got the voices back but I’m still getting this abberant pitch slew. It’s so noticeable and interferes with note attacks to the degree that I find it hard to believe others would have it and not complain.
I guess I should do an OS reinstall. Then if it persists contact U.D.O. support.
Ok so I’ve done a full reinstall of the firmware and yes, this is a repeatable bug I believe.
Try this:
- init patch
- Hold one note and bend it all the way down on the RBN-1 and hold you finger there on the ribbon whilst letting go of the note.
- Play notes counting up to 20 (with SP8+ upgrade)
- On the twentieth note you will hear it slew up to the new pitch.
You can hold more notes and bend them and you’ll hear as many notes as were bent slew up/down to their new pitch.
Our ears are very sensitive to these pitch inflections! This needs addressing U.D.O. please!
