OK, last one in this percussion series!:This is an example clave / woodblock patch:
p4_s6Clave_Woodblock.s6 (35.6 KB)
The start point is shown below:
This patch uses the filter in self-resonance as the primary tone. Filter is in Band Pass Mode with a HPF around 70-75%, with a DRIVE at level 1. Get to the sweet spot by bringing the resonance up slowly (remember to limit the main volume when doing this). The pitch is controlled by the VCF Freq.
There is no modulation applied to the filter to maintain a constant pitch.
DDS1 is set to noise, with DDS2 set to LFO mode (initially to silence it). There is a secondary lower tone provided by LFO1 in HF (non-tracking) mode, output to DDS2. Get a balance between the two using the MIX dial
Tip: To add extra harmonics to the sound, apply a little LFO 1 modulation to the VCA
Envelopes
ENV2 provides a percussive profile with a medium short decay and release phase. This envelope is tempered by ENV1 to create more convex curves in both active phases.
Here is an example of the sound without external processing:
