Super 6 Percussion: Toms

Created a simple Tom Tom patch:

p7_tomtom_v1.s6 (35.6 KB)

Panel settings to start from:

The sound is primarily a combination of a sine wave on DDS1 and Noise from DDS2.

Modulation:

DDS2 modulates the VCF Freq for a little more overall brightness

ENV1 is 1/2 Keytracked and is applied to the following:

  • significantly modulating the pitch of DDS1
  • self modulating its DECAY for a snappier profile
  • modulating the MIX to provide a little more noise in the transient

LFO1 is set to RND in ONCE Mode to slightly modulate the pitch of DDS1 (using a suggestion from @trond.olsen in his recent Dulcimer patch here: Acoustic sounds ) with the effect also increasing slightly with increased VEL.

VCA DYNAMICS are also set to full to respond to changes in velocity.

SHIFT Values:

There’s a little bit of DRIFT (SHIFT + [DDS MODULATOR >> PW]) added also (10-15% or so)

The HPF (SHIFT + [VCF >> FREQ]) is applied at roughly the same position as the VCF FREQ in the picture (around 40%)

An example of what it sounds like without any processing:

Hi HMan,

I changed the link from Pixabay to Soundcloud. The Pixabay link was still undergoing a quality review which may have limited its visibility / access
