I’m having a weird issue with my Super Gemini. When I switch the power button on, the LEDs briefly flash but then the synth doesn’t actually turn on - only the LFO 1 rate LED on the upper layer will blink 5 times intermittently. No other LEDs remain lit and the synth can’t be played.
Any suggestions on what to do or what might be the problem? I’ve not changed anything with the power cord or outlet that I’m using. I did email UDO Support, but figured I’d ask here as well.
I recently returned my first Gemini to the retailer when mine similarly failed. Totally unresponsive; LFO 1 blinking. Fortunately it was within the 30 day return policy and a replacement was sent.
I’d recommend contacting UDO with the issue. They were prompt to respond when I did likewise.
I suspect it might be a failed main board, but it’s certainly disconcerting to hear yet another user has suffered the same issue.
Hope this helps and best wishes for a prompt solution.
UDO support can be a little slow on the turn around, but they will take care of you in the end. Best of luck, hope it’s something that can be easily remedied.
i received a new gemini and i had the same problem at the first power on… no sound and led at the left linking by 5. i connected to pc and succeed to install an upodate and the gemini started. UDO support say that it is due to old firmware which had some problems sporadicaly and it has been fixed now…

Yes, that was the issue for me as well. No idea how this happened, as I previously had the latest firmware installed, but here is the reply from UDO which solved the issue:
LFO 1 flashing 5 times in a row signifies an error code where the synth can’t detect any firmware. What you need to do is connect your Gemini to your computer via USB and upload the latest firmware from the website onto the Gemini Drive. Allow the install to complete, then unplug the USB, and power cycle the Gemini. The Gemini will now process the update, this can take a few minutes, and once complete it will power on normally.

Glad you got that sorted. My issue was different. It would not boot into disk mode. Regardless of what was tried, it was completely unresponsive. Had to go back.
Enjoy your Gemini. Love mine; it’s a uniquely glorious instrument.
Thanks! On a separate note, I’m thinking about selling the Gemini for a Super 6. I think I prefer the simplicity and layout of the 6 to the Gemini.
This is what led me to “downgrade” from a Gemini to a Super 8. I find the simpler layout much preferable.

Good to know! Im leaning towards the 6, but considering the 8 as well. Still not sure that the 8 would be worth the “downgrade”, whereas moving to the 6 would save me a pretty significant amount of money compared to the 8
I feel your struggle. The deciding factor for me ultimately was keybed. If you don’t need the 61 keys and additional voices then I’d say the S6 is a solid choice.
