UDO Super Gemini

Bug or fault?

Good evening folks. Had my Gemini for a couple of weeks now and very much enjoying it. However I’d like to hear from UDO or other owners whether they’re experiencing a couple of issues, as follows.

  1. I’ve noticed on oscillator 2 of the lower layer only, what appears to be phase resetting at random, sporadic intervals. Happens both pre and post-install of v1.9. Process as follows: put Gemini into single mode, activate lower layer, initialise that layer, set the mixer to 100% oscillator 2, trigger and hold a single note and listen. Might take a while to hear, but I’m occasionally getting what sounds like waveform phase resetting, BUT only on saw or triangle. Other waveforms seem to be unaffected from what I can tell. Pretty audible when it happens, should not be happening.

  2. Again this refers to the lower layer. I’ve experienced, soon after initialising this layer and holding a note down (init sawtooth), a sudden apparent parameter jump, causing the tone of the initialised sawtooth to very audibly change from pure to resonant filtered sawtooth. As though the synth scanned the physical position of the resonance pot and detected an incremental change, despite me not touching the controls. I suspect this change would not be audible right after initialising unless the synth also scanned the cut-off pot (whose position was approx 75% open). Resonance with the filter fully open is less likely to be audible right after initialising.

Two early findings here, the first of which happens predictably every time I use the synth which is disappointing. Can’t stress how good this synth is otherwise however, very satisfying sounds come out of it.

What are UDO’s and other users’ findings? Can you replicate these issues?
