Interested to hear patches (or music!) that people have been making with their various Supers this year. Just got my Super 6 recently and I’ve been amazed at how enjoyable the patch making process is.
It’s been a bit quiet on this side of the forum, so would love to hear what people have been making. Here’s a few of my first ones (btw - if anyone can tell me how to properly embed Soundcloud links…lmk! ):
A clicky synth-y organ. Usually not at all the time of patch I like to make, but really enjoyed the simple percussive element + the sort of ‘sinews’ and variations you can hear when holding down chords
Fizzy keys! With envelope 1 set to quick attack + few other things, ended up with some quick sizzles but interesting plucks almost with the delay. In the second part of the clip I elongate most things on the envelope and it turns into a nice evolving pad.
Pick pad with fun bouncy resonance. The sound is lost a bit on Soundcloud but I really enoyed the sharp attack sound, the bouncy resonance if you play quicker and then like super saw + choir sound almost when holding notes.
I’m never one to pass up an opportunity to share my music. This year I released my first ever album. As the pandemic was winding down, I ended up forming a writing duo with my oldest daughter and then my youngest son joined in. We wrote a 12 song Alt-Synthpop (or maybe Prog-Synthpop album).
We are called Waveform Mountain and our album PROCESSING… turned out amazingly cool. Stream PROCESSING… Here
The Super 6 made it onto many of the songs, but the most prominent part is the deep arp sound that starts off Same Page.
That arp is such a Super 6 sound! (meant in the best way)
Interested to hear what you felt the 6 did or didn’t need in terms of additional FX (beyond the usual compression/EQ etc.) when taking its sounds from instrument to track.
