Any timeframe on the DMNO sequencer update?

Hey fellas, sorry if this has been asked before but I was curious before I invested in an external sequencer(which I probably need anyway). Fantastic time with the machine so far, hope everyone agrees!:alien:

I agree, I’m loving it. It really is greater than the sum of its parts, the filters sound so wonderful.

I haven’t seen any timeline mentioned anywhere.

It depends how deep you want your sequencing to go. I don’t use a computer for sequencing, and learning the sequencer in depth on several synths is a big undertaking. I bought a Sequentix Cirklon, which is about as comprehensive as it gets. It is also a massive learning curve, though once learned, it works more or less the same on any of my synths. Having learned what is possible in a sequencer, it becomes easier to compare the many available hardware sequencers, such as ability to run sub-tracks to control different things in a sequence. Some sequencers only allow a repetitive tune, which I find a bit boring. Others are more like a tape recorder, that makes through-composed music. Hope that helps.

I emailed UDO about that. They are not willing to give a timeframe for sequencer and MPE unfortunately..

Yes this helped and I decided that a good step sequencer will be worth it for me personally at this point as I am the same way in not using a PC to sequence and it would just streamline my workflow much better. The Cirklon and the Oxi one mk2 are the two I’m deciding between.:+1:

You are spoiled for choice today: Novation, Arturia Keystep, Korg SQ64, Torso T1,or Doepfer. Squarp Hapax is CV and MIDI, suitable Eurorack. They discontinued their first MIDI one, and I can’t remember the name, but they come up secondhand. Korg’s SQD8 was my first hardware sequencer, and is quite good, though limited, compared to SQ64, which is a lot more powerful. My choice would need several MIDI tracks and be able for each having a different track length. Sequentix Cirklon does everything and more, though it is really complicated to learn. I’ve also tried having 2 different hardware sequencers, not MIDI clocked in sync, for making poly-rhythmis tunes.

The Oxi is excellent, I think you’d be very happy with it.

I’ve been using the step-sequencer on my Minifreak, as well as my M8 for sequencing my DMNO, both do the job just fine, but I’m still hankering for whatever UDO’s native implementation ends up being.
