Firmware update - release date

Doesn’t look like we’ll be able to change the frequency of the HPF in track mode, which I think is a shame. Less narrow BPFs can be super useful

Hi everyone,

We really do appreciate your patience with us and the next version of the firmware. I know that you have heard the same from us for a while now, but it is (honestly!) getting closer each day.

This message does feel somewhat empty without actually providing you all with the firmware itself, but one day soon you will see v0.27 live on our website and ready to download. The update is a big one, it contains lots of big features and important bug fixes - we think you’re all going to like it a lot. I can only apologise that it has taken this long.

Thanks,
Callum.

(P.S. George is working furiously hard to avoid his public stoning!)

Everyday single day. I started playing shows with the super 6 and sadly I am still unable to sync the midi clock or use direct USB connection with my DAW.

Hello Adminstrator, The patch sounds created remain the same with the new firmware ? they are not distorted ?

Great news on the updated manual (and firmware coming along)!

I noticed there’s a difference between keyboard vs desktop mod sources, desktop has “Note Number” instead of +Bender.

What does this function do, and is it on the keyboard S6 somewhere as source or otherwise?

Cheers!

PS: Hope you can add LFO1 as a mod source at some point (ie SHIFT + LFO2 button to access LFO1 as source). It would be VERY helpful and much appreciated! Keep up the great work!

Damn :frowning: I was looking forward to that the most

I think it’s like Keyboard Tracking but would allow you to assign it to any parameter. Very cool. I hope the keyboard version will get it too at some stage.

Damn, I also REALLY hope this makes it to the keyboard model. It’s usually the source I use the most in other mod matrices, and I’ve really been missing it on the S6.

Yeah i’m hoping the same. I mean it’s nice and all being able to map different destinations to either bender direction but frankly i’d rather have note number. Not holding my breath tho. Will be generally content once this update comes out and the core bugs and issues are addressed. It’s long overdue at this point.

Hi everyone. We are very close now to releasing the new Firmware 0,27. The update is very significant and has really transformed the instrument. We have focussed not just on features and fixes but actually re-designing parts of the core to make the instrument smoother, sharper and more musical. I can see that there are a number of features people have requested that you will not find this time, but the improvements that are in there will bring a smile to many faces I’m sure (it did for me!). I/we are now very much back in the saddle with development and subsequent updates will be made in much quicker succession from now on (so long as I can distract myself from playing the ting!) George

Hi Paolo, yes your patches should all sound the same. We cannot check every combination of sounds (they are infinite) but we have verified all 128 factory sounds are un-altered giving us good confidence. The tonal quality of the instrument has changed ever so slightly, but this is a definite improvement and the patch will sound the same, just subtly more musical if you are using audio rate modulations or LFO1 as oscillator

Thanks for the update, George, and for all the hard work on the new version of the firmware. Very much looking forward to putting it through its paces.

What’s the plan for keyboard owners with respect to the VCA modulation by LFO2 that’s been introduced on the desktop version of the Super 6, but the new manual indicates doesn’t exist on the keyboard? Is there going to feature parity between the keyboard and desktop module, which would seem to make sense for patch compatibility?

Currently, you can apply direct modulation of the Env Level by LFO2 but it doesn’t go deep enough to produce a tremolo effect, so having the same ability to modulate the VCA using LFO 2 on the keyboard would be a good addition.

Mmm well the patches will sound the same as the engine is the same, it’s just the Keyboard doesn’t have a knob for the LFO2->VCA like the desktop, which I guess means a desktop patch loaded on a keyboard that uses LFO2->VCA won’t be able to turn that mod off on the KB, a fringe condition but relevant. The control is available over CC and/or NRPN on the keyboard. I’m open to suggestions. It might have to be a shift function such as SHIFT + LFO1(VCA). Useful comment thanks keep em coming

Hi George/UDO. Will we have full modulation range for the mod destinations?

Awesome news and glad to hear that you are still focused on the core itself with those improvements you mentioned (not that it doesn’t sound amazing already). But I love the fact you are dedicated to making it the best it can be.

Shift + LFO1(VCA) would be perfect for setting the depth of LFO2 mod of the VCA. Simple, quick and intuitive. With LFO2 as a source being shaped according to the setting of the rocker switch on the performance section, us keyboard owners would be able to do tremolo modulation under the control of aftertouch and the mod stick, just like our desktop owning kin. That would be really great if that can be incorporated.

Midi Sync I’m surprised about comments read today here. In my studio the S6 midi sync actually works : taken either from sequential P3 output or from a multiclock the synth actually hooks on the clock it listens to
Have not tried with the clock coming out of the computer but they tend to suck anyway regardless of the daw or midi interface you use

Hi everybody,

I just created a private beta testing subforum. If you would like to volunteer as a beta tester for the upcoming release candidate, please let me know by replying to this message or by sending me a PM.

Thanks!
