Yeah, I’ve preordered a white one (it reminded me of the lighter-colored areas of the Nostromo), and am occupying my time waiting or shipment by endlessly wondering if I should switch to the black.
Also deeply flabbergasted (that’s right! I am deeply flabbergasted) that all of NAMM came and went and there is so far not one clip of George talking about when they’re expecting to ship.
I really want to know if the 3-way switches in the MOD section are modes (OR) or selectors (AND)… eg. if you set the WAVE/PWM switch to LFO1 and dial up some modulation, can you flip the switch to ENV1 -AND- add envelope modulation to the LFO1 modulation? - or does that switch only allow modulation from LFO1 -OR- ENV1? I am hoping that since they are encoders, that each of those knobs serves three functions, selected by the switches above.
The retailer who I preordered from went and talked to George for me and confirmed they’re aiming for a March shipping date. Delays happen of course, but that seems reasonable.
One of us, one of us! March can’t come soon enough. I’m almost trying to go in blind…I trust George to give us something special that doesn’t just repackage the Super Series…I don’t know where it’ll take me, but I’m here for it. The Gemini is my GOAT.
I can’t wait to see the initial supported modulation matrix features, and what series “complex oscillator” concretely means. If the LFO and oscillators were to be thought of as FM operators, what’s the longest operator chain I can make? Key tracking audio rate LFOL → Osc 1L → Osc 2L → things on the right side?
I wonder if oscillators themselves can be used to modulate filter cutoff etc… which is a favorite in the modular world. Or to what extent oscillators can modulate amplitude of other things.
Thanks for adding me. I just ordered mine, lucky me got a 8% discount code from Musicstore, so ordered instantly. Now just waiting for it for 2 or 3 months. I only hope the manual will be released earlier…yep, I’m the guy who loves to read manuals.
hi! i’m wondering if someone could help me grasp the voice count on the dmno. i’ve seen three pieces of information on the website and it’s a little confusing for me :
‘DMNO is an 8-voice, 2-part multitimbral powerhouse’
‘It features two independent 4-voice analog-hybrid synthesizers’
‘DMNO employs a 8 voices in standard mode, with the option of twinning them to create 4 voices in Binaural mode’
the second statement would lead me to believe that if playing just one domino, one could only play 4-note chords. but that would mean that in binaural mode, one could only play two notes at a time, right?
furthermore, am i understanding correctly that when not in binaural mode, and in dual mode (both dominos stacked), you’ll also only be able to play 4-note chords, with 8 voices total but stacked, is that right?
so lastly, does this mean that to play 8-notes chords, the only way would be to play in split mode (with both dominos set to the exact same sounds possibly)?
I am just curious, has any mention been made by UDO of the MPE button on the DMNO? I assume it is something that is intended (but not promised) to be implemented in the future via firmware, but was wondering if there was any clarity on the matter.
