As requested by many I can know inform you that I’m working on an editor and librarian for the Super 8 and Super Gemini.
Still quite a lot of work (especially tests and check of parameters) but most of things are settled and the editor/librarian starts to be usable.
A great thank to @trond.olsen who is supporting me with verification and some analysis on his Super Gemini as I don’t have the synth (neither an S8 nor a SG - I’m not loopop ).
Also thx to Mike from UDO Support for his time and patience answering my (sometimes stupid sometimes very tricky) questions.
Some of the features:
you can change the look at any time (S8/SG). It also changes some details according to the synth
direct view of both layers (main parameters, fixed and user modulations, performance parameters)
display of the A/B waves on the main panel
Load performance / load patch via menu displaying the content of the different banks (this will be brought to my Super 6 editor)
Save should be possible as the patch file is easier/better than the one of the S6
Performance manager: display your performances and underlying layers in different banks and manage them. Includes the possibility to change the patches
Patch manager: display your patches in different banks and manage them (including display of DDS1 A/B and LFO1 waves of source and destination patches)
Wave manager: same as S6 Wave manager but with A/B waves for both layers
(I can provide screenshots of the other tabs as well)
It will probably still take a few months (time flies and I can only spend about 1hr a day as hobby time on it) but I hope to get it ready by Eastern (no promises).
Thx to all for your patience.
Just let me know if you have any question.
I need to produce all my patch mappers and editors Apple Silicon.
I purchased a M1 but need to run the Apple Silicon CtrlrX version on it.
Need to find time to compile and build it. Then cross fingers it will be stable and work.
But yes, it is in the plans. In a first instance you will have to use Rosetta (and I also need to try that myself first).
Here are some screenshots of the other tabs.
Some parts are not yet updated/working (info, usage, performance details, Unique LED for waves, Performance operations, patch operations…) but quite other stuff are already working
I would like to know if you still have in your plans to somehow develop a tool to adapt patches between Super 6 and Super 8G. I know that would inevitably imply loss of some parameters/settings, but at least that would give a base from wich to work on .
As Grégoire mentioned. It is already there since a few years.
Works also on Mac Intel but for the moment you need to use Rosetta for M1.
I still need to produce a native M1 version but don’t find the time to focus on that right now.
Will come for all my editors / patch mappers.
A new version of the S6 editor will also come with different changes (coming from my work on the S8G) but I’m not there yet either…
Thankyou. I will check out your S6 editor, as I am still on Mac Intel. I have had a quick read of manual - if you can quickly assist in this matter though: does the editor allow midi mapping of the S6 to virtual instruments, or make that process any easier?
