Good evening everyone, I wanted to share my experiences with the Super Gemini and ask if you’re experiencing the same problems I’ve encountered, which I’ve summarized in several points:
Is there a way to set aftertouch to mono?
When I set the init patch, LFO2 is monophonic and free-running, and when I change its waveform, it becomes polyphonic and resets with each key press (except with the sine waveform, where it remains polyphonic but free-running). If you don’t change the waveform and set the switch to “LFO-on,” it remains monophonic.
The sample and glide waveform (the last waveform of LFO2) doesn’t work. The manual (on page 86) says that “when the modulation sources represented by buttons 1-8 are modulating destinations outside the modulation matrix, their respective LEDs also flash.” What does this mean?
Why does dds2 reset when used as an osc and is free running when used as an lfo?
DDS1, if set to 1/2 (Super setting in the DDS Modulator section), says the 7 waveforms of the 7 super oscillators reset. If they reset, why don’t they produce a binaural result, like DDS2 does, which resets itself? 6) I had to turn it off and on again because the “MOD ASSIGN” button didn’t work.
Aftertouch and Env1, which modulate the LR PHASE, sometimes work, sometimes not (velocity is fine).
The LFO2 Trig, if you set the switch to “LFO 2 ON,” should modulate both DDS and VCF, like Aftertouch, but instead it only modulates the VCF. Does this happen to you too?
How do I set the step length for the sequence? Do I have to set all 64 steps?
Thanks and regards everyone.
Can’t hit it all today, but I was just looking at my SG to see.
Not to my knowledge.
That doesn’t happen with mine. There is a note at the end of the LFO2 section saying that using it as a mod destination will make it behave polyphonically, which checks out for me. Maybe try clearing the Mod destinations jic?
A) It works, but not as expected. It seems to hold the note it glides to. Turn up the delay and you can see it happening. Not sure if this was how they intended it to work or not. B) Hold a Mod Source button down and slide any slider (or turn the LFO 2 rate knob) you’ll see lights flash to show it’s selected. Then turn the Mod Amount knob to set it‘S intensity.
That’s standard LFO behavior unless there’s a setting for it like LFO 1 has?
7. The Bender and Aftertouch are the same, following the bender sliders. LFO follows the sliders on the left as usual.
Good morning and thank you so much for your replies. While waiting for further responses to my questions, I’ll explain what happens with the points you kindly answered:
For me, it becomes polyphonic, as explained in my initial message, even just by setting the switch to “LFO ON” starting from “Patch Init.” What does “it becomes polyphonic if you set it as the modulation destination” mean? If I modulate the Rate or Delay of LFO2? Because unless I’m mistaken, only these two parameters of LFO2 can be modulated, or am I wrong? What does “perhaps you could try deleting the modulation destinations” mean?
When I set the switch to “LFO2 ON,” Aftertouch modulates both the DDS and the Cutoff, while Bender only modulates the Cutoff and doesn’t modulate the DDS.
What firmware version are you on? There are some specific changes to bender behaviour when LFO 2 is set to “on”. Check the release notes to see if that addresses your issue.
By clearing the Mod Destinations, I just mean that, hitting shift and Mod Assign, but having just messed around some more, I didn’t find that to do anything.
I’m one firmware update behind, v 1.26, it looks like there’s a bug fix for the issue in 1.33, that I need to install. I’m also having weird behavior with the bender and PolyAT when LFO2 is set to always on.
