What I want to do is connect my Erica synths Perkons to the midi thru of the Super 6 and have the Super 6 connected to my computer via usb (using logic to send a clock to both devices). Is this possible? If not, am I best off using a midi interface? I’m using a UAD Apollo twin as my audio interface, which doesn’t have midi connections. I do however, have a motu 8pre connected via adat, which does have midi, could this be used. I’m aware that I’ve asked too many question. I’ve worked inside the box for 30 years but buying a super 6 has made me realise how much I’ve been missing. It in my top 3 ever music purchases and I’m also loving the Perkons as well. I just want a solid computer + hardware instrument setup.

Unfortunately you can’t use DIN and USB midi simultaneously (more accurately you can and it does work but could be unpredictable for some types of messages).
However, MIDI thru is a hardware connection directly from MIDI in (DIN) and thus MIDI in from USB will not be sent out in the thru port.
MIDI input from USB won’t pass thru to MIDI out on DIN. However you raise a good point that in fact there is no reason MIDI in from USB is not sent straight out to MIDI out. Precisely for the reason you suggest. @DDS please can you log this as a feature request for future implementation? Thanks
