Just stopping by to say this is awesome indeed!
Fun fact : I suggested UDO last week to Check CTRLR for exactly that purpose…
What’s the good word? Any movement on you getting what you need @goodweather ?
could you share your work as it is?
Will most probably restart working on this during summer holidays.
Midi input bug in Ctrlr found and corrected.
Thx for your follow-up!
pretty keen to have something like this, i must say.
Hi just saw this post! Any updates? I am on the verge of selling my SG as I find it difficult to work with having no screen or editor. An editor program such as the one you are working on would be a game changer. I get the whole philosophy of concentrating on the sound and creating changes using your ear and physically interacting with the instrument, yet it is 2025 and there is no reason not to have both. Thx!
the problem is not for me for create sounds but to have the possibilty to know (or see) what is the value of a parameter in the actual sound
Some more patience.
I just finished my summer holidays and hobby challenge that was to be able to produce VST3 and M1 versions of my editors by completing some changes of the last CtrlrX version.
Now will be back to the actual editors (S8G, Kobol Expander and Wave)
Will be great to see what you come up with.
I am following this with keen interest. I have only had my Gemini for a few weeks and am very excited by the prospect of the librarian. Godspeed.
Does it live? Has it died? Or is it yet to be born?
No worry!
I have now nice versions of CtrlrX for Windows, Mac Intel and Apple Silicon.
I’m currently working on the new version and manual for the Pro-800 then will look back to the S8G.
20 characters of - or is it stillborn?
Still on the table but one month abroad, different private problems and still limited time to transition my existing patch mappers to the last CtrlrX platform is not helping progress on the S8G…
Sorry for this.
Perhaps you need some collaborators?
Do you think you will be able to complete the SG project? If so, when? I love the SG, but will likely sell it if there is no editor/librarian ever available(or at least a librarian).
The programmer mentioned previously this project would be completed by last summer. It appears the basis for the coding is all there why so many delays? What a shame this is dragging on forever, so many of us need this for the Super Gemini. UDO should really be providing one, it would be so insanely helpful if it materialized. It doesn’t make any sense to not provide one in 2025 for such a deep instrument with no damn display!
Hi guys, I understand your impatience but please try to stay cool…
If you are not aware of it, Sunny Synths is a hobby for me, I have a full time day job. That being said, I dedicate a lot of time to Sunny Synths.
Just to repeat myself for the x times, the S8G editor was depending on the new version of CtrlrX that took time to stabilize and I have still some issues with it.
I set the priority on getting a good version then to convert all my patch mappers to VST3 and Apple Silicon but encountered issues with the zoom and resize.
That + normal family life + vacations abroad + unexpected sad events created delays that I would myself also have gladly avoided.
But it is what it is…
As I also already said, you will be the first ones informed when the editor will be ready.
Thank for you efforts thus far. Frankly, I’m thankful that someone - anyone - is working on this. The appetite for the product is obviously there. I’m in the process of designing patch and performance banks for the Gemini. An editor would surely be helpful, if for no other reason than to more easily organize the sounds.
Take your time. If your name is on it - whatever it is - make it the best you can do. Family first. Merry Christmas.
I have owned a S6 and now own a Super Gemini. My sense is that the company develops fine sounding synths but has no interest in supporting the development of a librarian/editor. The company president seems to want to go onto the next synth project and evidently doesn’t care about helping overcome the serious flaw in their S6/S8/SG design, no screen, by supporting software that could really help lessen that limitation. Perhaps this will change, but I doubt it.
