Sounds with solo voice assignment still tigger as poly via an external controller. Is this expected behavior?
I can’t reproduce. When a layer is set on Solo it plays Solo when triggered from MIDI. Can you share more info on how your layer is set up?
OS 1.2.6. Startup, select patch mode. Init patch, press voice assign mode until it select solo. Monophonic when playing Super Gemini, polyphonic when triggering via external midi - (NI Kontrol Mk3 via Bitwig)
Yes, this is what I did, but it plays mono when sets to Solo
Do you send MIDI notes to the proper channel? Channel 1 for Upper Layer, Channel 2 for Lower Layer by default. That’s the only thing I can think of.
Odd - I have to have the keyboard mode set to dual to be able to trigger the distinct layers play separately. And for me, channel 2 triggers later 1, channel 1 triggers later 2 (same behavior in Live, Bitwig and Logic even after global reset)
You are right. You have to set to Dual or Split to play the two layers separately. As in the manual:
“Since Single mode uses both layers for full polyphony”
But the inverted channels is weird. I don’t know about that
Yeah - odd! Still, using Dual with one layer set to solo, playing via remote keys maintains the solo setting! So user error I guess for the initial post, but certainly interesting to see the channels reversed
I’d send that to UDO support, the channels shouldn’t reverse.
I guess I’m experiencing expected behavior. After some RTFM, I ‘assumed’ the lower layer would be midi channel 2, the upper channel 2. Turns out the opposite is true. Thanks for the assistance. “The base MIDI channel set in the global settings is assigned to the upper layer, while the MIDI channel one number higher is assigned to the lower layer.”
